Music on the Fly Performances continue at the Juneau International Airport

Robert Lopez of Anchorage drops off a tip for Tom Locher, keyboard, and Wayne Norland, tenor saxophone, as they perform at the Juneau International Airport on In June as part of the Music on the Fly concert series sponsored by the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council.

The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council’s Music on the Fly performance series will be continuing at the Juneau International Airport through the winter. Performances are scheduled one Sunday each month, from 6:45-7:45 p.m., on days when many travelers are expected to come through.

Last Sunday, the featured act was the Impassion Music Studio, featuring Sandy Fortier and her music students. On Nov. 24, Travis Croteau and Friends will play covers and originals, and on Dec. 22, young musicians from the Juneau String Ensembles will perform.

The project was created to help uplift and soothe travelers and give local entertainers performance opportunities, as well as to help set the tone for Juneau as Alaska’s Creative Captial.

The arts council is currently looking for performers for the spring season, find out more at
