Local old-time band Rumblefish will provide live music for the New England Barn Dance on Saturday, Oct. 26 at St. Ann’s Hall, located at Fifth and Harris Streets, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The band includes Andy Ferguson on fiddle and Jack Fontanella on guitar, as well as others.
Caller Odette Edgar will teach and prompt the dances in contra and square formations. This community dance is suitable for families with children aged 10 and older. Previous experience and partners are not necessary.
Admission is $8 for the public and $5 for seniors and students. There is no charge for Jesuit Volunteers, SAGA workers, and Americorp Volunteers.
The New England Barn Dance series was founded in 1988, and is affiliated with the Juneau International Folkdancers.
