Local historian, researcher and speaker Jim Geraghty will share his research into the people and events that shaped the settling of the Mendenhall Valley at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum’s Coffee & Collections presentation Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10:30 a.m.-12 noon. This is a free event with coffee provided by Heritage Coffee Company.
Geraghty’s presentation will focus on how this parcel of land, shaped by the recession of the glacier, became the busy place we know today.
