KTOO is soliciting artists who wish to contribute works in all mediums that relate to the historic Pump House at Sandy Beach for a planned show centered on the landmark to be held at the station in February 2014. The show will be part of a month-long celebration of the structure, highlighting its history as well as its future.
The Treadwell Mine’s salt water Pump House has stood sentinel on the 80-acre Sandy Beach in Douglas for nearly 100 years. It has been the subject of paintings, prints and photographs and even serves as the Island Pub’s business logo.
Artists are invited to submit work for consideration ready to hang by Monday, Feb. 3, for a First Friday Show on Feb. 7.
