Tollefson to perform Dec. 26 at McPhetres

Former local Eric Tollefson will be in town next week to give a performance of his original music at McPhetres Hall on Dec. 26. This solo acoustic show will feature new, unrecorded material that Tollefson plans to record for his third CD early next year.

His first CD, ”The Sum of Parts,” was released in 2008, followed by “The Polar Ends” in 2011.

Tollefson got his start, like many Juneau kids, at the Alaska Folk Festival, where he performed for the first time when he was 12, joining Hannah Lager and her father John. He played his own set the next year, and eventually began performing at the Hangar while still in high school. He graduated from JDHS in 2002.

The McPhetres Hall show, which is all ages, begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26 and is $12 at the door. McPhetres Hall is located on the ground floor of Holy Trinity Church, at the corner of Fourth and Gold Streets downtown.
