Welling to perform original songs about the Nativity Friday

Myron Welling will perform a “Musical Nativity” concert this Friday at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church. The show is free and suitable for all ages.

Welling has composed a selection of original songs for the concert, that celebrate the birth of Christ. His wife, Melita, and daughter, Amy, will perform some of the songs with him.

Myron Welling is well known in the music community for his vocal performances as part of “King Island Christmas,” Singing in the Rain cabaret, and the Alaska Folk Festival and other events.

Melita Welling said her husband has composed a song about the Nativity every year at Christmas for the past several years, and this year decided to put a handful of pieces together for a performance.

The Wellings are also scheduled to travel to Haines to perform the Musical Nativity next weekend, Dec. 14.
