Juneau Arts & Humanities Council continues "One Night Stands"

On Tuesdays in January, the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council has been hosting a “One Night Stand” series, providing an opportunity for Individual Artist Grant recipients to showcase their work as artists, and to report back to the community that helped provide the funding for the grant.

This week’s Individual Artist Grant recipient will be Hali Denton, who will discuss “Tin House, Summer Writer’s Workshop” on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 5-7 p.m. On Jan. 28 it will be Kathy Hocker, who will discuss “The art of the field sketch.”

Every year the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council facilitates Individual Artist Grants. The grant is awarded to experienced artists of exceptional talent to produce original works of art or to advance their careers. This program enables artists to set aside time to create or present works of art, conduct research, purchase materials, attend workshops or seminars, generally advance their artistic careers, or cover loss of artistic materials resulting from theft, fire or other emergencies or disasters. Artists in any creative discipline may apply. Visit www.jahc.org for more details on grants and scholarships.
