Symphony seeks reviewer for 2014-15 concert season

The Juneau Symphony, together with the Juneau Empire, is looking for someone to write reviews of symphony concerts for the 2014-15 season; the pieces will be published in the Arts section of the Juneau Empire.

Interested writers can audition for this opportunity by submitting a review of the Juneau Symphony’s final concert, happening the weekend of June 14-15. The Juneau Symphony Board will choose a winner from the entries and the selected writer will begin by reviewing with the Symphony’s fall 2014 concert. Submissions should be between 400-600 words.

During the 2014-15 season, each of the symphony’s four concerts will be conducted by a candidate for the position of Juneau Symphony conductor; Kyle Pickett will be leaving his position at the end of the current season. The selected writer for the season will be asked to present a fair and balanced critique of not only the musical work, but also the performance of each conductor. Submissions should be between 400-600 words.
