The Juneau-Douglas City Museum will be closed Aug. 8 through 10 due to the installation of the new heating, ventilation and air condition system. The museum will reopen at noon on Aug. 11.
Additionally, from Aug. 11 through 15, the Juneau Explorers Camp for children ages 8 to 11, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme for this year’s camp is “critters.” Participants will learn about a variety of animal species that live in Juneau such as birds, aquatic insects and bears. There will be a field trip daily, including the Gold Rush Sled Dog Tours and the Gastineau Humane Society. Registration is required and limited, to guarantee a spot register by 10 a.m. on Aug. 8.
