Harrison B returns to Juneau and headlines Rockwell’s Summer Shakedown, which also features bands The Wool Pullers and The Shiver Twins. The Summer Shakedown starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Rockwell Ballroom and tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
Harrison B, on guitar, is paired with vocalist Jordan Baron — he came to Juneau three years ago for work but found his musical growth was infinitely more valuable — along with drummer Phil Paramore and bassist J.R. Rosales, both of Juneau.
The style blends traditional and progressive elements and pulls from a range of genres, including blues, jazz, folk and country. It’s a voice and sound Baron was able to develop here in Juneau, and which he’s happy to bring back. The trio recently completed six-week West Coast tour.
Baron, sometimes on his own and sometimes with other musicians, has performed across the state from open mic nights to festival sets. He has released two albums, the Harrison B LP in 2011 and Down at Brown’s in 2013. Harrison B will debut the music video for “Me” at the show.
The Wool Pullers consists of Liz Snyder and Alex Kotlarsz, a girl-boy folk rock duo. The Shiver Twins is comprised of garage rockers Eric Mountcastle on guitar and vocals and J.R. Rosales on drums.
The Summer Shakedown is sponsored by Rockwell, the Aurora Projekt, KRNN, Alaskan Brewing, Juneau Pizza and the University of Alaska Southeast. Tickets can be purchased in advance at hbsummershakedown.brownpapertickets.com.
