Salmonfest celebrates Alaska bands

Salmonfest 2016 runs Aug. 5-7 and features a wide-ranging collection of Alaskan bands. Come celebrate during Alaska’s biggest festival weekend right here in Ninilchik.

Bands from Homer, Anchorage, Mat-Su, Girdwood, Seward, Sutton and Sterling. Don’t miss Matt Hopper, originally from Hatcher Pass. Enjoy hearing Emmett Williams from Sitka, Hope Social Club, from Girdwood, Super Saturated Sugar Strings, from Anchorage; just to name a few, all here for Salmonfest.

Salmonfest has become widely recognized both nationally and within the state as the most compelling and dynamic event in Alaska. Every year more than 6,000 people turn the Kenai Peninsula village of Ninilchik into a city as families and friends with encampments full of music, food, fish and love.

Over the three-day weekend many of Alaska’s top food, crafts, art and brews are available throughout the grounds and a family friendly atmosphere, including a daily children’s program is part of the four stage extravaganza that includes over 50 acts.

Salmonfest is supported by and benefits The Kachemak Bay Conservation Society with support from Cook Inletkeeper. KBCS is a longstanding Homer-based non-profit organization that seek to educate the public, and both protect and promote Alaska’s fish-filled waters.
