Garlic mustard is nasty stuff. And it’s trying to take root in Juneau.
This comes as unwelcome news to local Invasive Plant Manager Dana White, who has organized a volunteer effort to remove the highly invasive non-native weed from areas of downtown Juneau this Satruday.
“This is a plant we should prevent from spreading,” she said. “Anything that was allowed to live last year now has a really strong root. Those plants have the potential to flower within a few sunny days.”
