Columbia, we have a problem.
Two days after a mechanical failure delayed the Alaska Marine Highway ferry Columbia from departing Washington state, it has again been sidelined, this time in Ketchikan.
A crack in part of its exhaust system caused a 24-hour delay Friday in Bellingham, Washington. It departed Bellingham at 8 p.m. Saturday after temporary repairs were made. Then, another temporary repair was needed while on course to Ketchikan, Department of Transportation spokesman Jeremy Woodrow said.
