Two U.S. Air Force A-10 Warthogs were seen parked at the Juneau International Airport on Monday.
JIA Manager Patricia deLaBruere said she believes the planes are based out of Arizona and were diverted to Juneau on Saturday, May 24, for mechanical reasons.
“Where one goes, the other follows (never leave your wingman), hence both are parked,” she wrote in an email to the Empire on Monday.
deLaBruere said Juneau sees a lot of transient military aircraft. They fly into the capital city for a quick stop-over or to fuel up between bases.
