A Juneau church was vandalized over the weekend: Someone threw a large, heavy rock through one of the side windows of First Church of God in the Mendenhall Valley.
Pastor David Swofford said the rock shattered the glass and landed inside the music room after church hours.
“It was a really big rock,” he said by phone from Missouri, estimating it was about 12 inches long.
Swofford was out of town at the time but a family friend walked by the church on Ka-See-An Drive in the valley, saw the damage and alerted him. He then notified police Saturday.
