A Juneau-based U.S. Coast Guard cutter has begun its annual holiday voyage to deliver donated goods to Southeast communities.
Lt. j.g. David Boyle, the project officer, said the Liberty embarked from Auke Bay on Thursday morning.
The Liberty will be drop off the donated coats, blankets and toys in Hoonah, Elfin Cove and Pelican.
Two buoy tenders — the Maple out of Sitka and the Anthony Petit out of Ketchikan — will also be helping deliver the donated items to Kake and Angoon next week.
