The Juneau School District Board of Education held a special meeting Thursday to sign off on two contracts: that of the district’s new superintendent, Mark Miller, and JSD’s agreement with the union that represents the district’s principals.
• Miller, who had already agreed to the contract, will receive a salary of $162,000 per year, as advertised in postings for the position. He’s entitled to 30 days of annual leave and a combined cellphone and gas stipend of $440 per month. He will also receive $20,000 in relocation reimbursement. Miller is relocating from Hayward, Calif.
