Ben Blackgoat ran for the love of running. He ran for those who could not run and for teammates who could. He ran to be free on the mountains and trails. More importantly he ran to share the love of running with anyone who would lace up shoes with him. On Saturday, 78 runners ran for Ben Blackgoat.
“He was really encouraging,” Breea Mearig said as entrants in the 15th Annual Ben Blackgoat Perseverance Trail Race checked in for two-, four-, or seven-milers. “It was really important to him for people to be part of the team, to cheer for everyone.”
