If guilt over the global footprint of your morning cup is compounded by the caffeine, David Thomas might have a roast to keep it in check.
Juneau’s Sentinel Coffee is Thomas’ small coffee roasting business, offering small-batch, locally roasted beans, sourced from farms run by co-ops or small community groups.
“Rwanda’s actually a really good one right now I like to highlight,” Thomas said.
“The Rwandan one is 40 percent owned by women, which is pretty special for Rwanda.”
He’s also promoting a roast of beans from a Hawaiian farm run by a Juneau couple.
