Nearly 130 delegates of Tlingit-Haida Central Council Tribal Assembly have met in Juneau, its capital city, for meetings that run through the week.

The sovereign, tribal government of the Central Council represents more than 28,000 Tlingit and Haida worldwide, according to the organization’s website.

The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Association National Marine Fisheries Service has scheduled a series of public informational meetings in Seattle and southeast Alaska to discuss capacity reduction and other topics on the southeast Alaska purse seine salmon fishery.

The Southeast Revitalization Association submitted a capacity reduction plan to determine the industry’s willingness to repay a fishing capacity reduction loan to purchase the permits identified in the reduction plan. Marine Fisheries approved that plan.

Alaska Airlines ran an abbreviated schedule Friday as it cancelled 50 flights in and out of Seattle in response to icy rain in the forecast.

“We did that because we weren’t quite sure how the weather would go,” Alaska Airline spokesman Paul McElroy said. Seattle’s weather ended up warming on Friday.

Bartlett’s Board of Directors Tuesday laid out its ongoing actions to replace two executive positions currently provided by long-term contractor Quantum Health Resources.

Board President Kristen Bomengen said the board is focusing on two main goals. First the board will find and select interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officers.

“While we will look at changes with this contract with Quorum,” Bomengen said, much of this search has been done in executive session to avoid the release of sensitive information.
