The Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday includes consideration of an application for another cell tower. The Assembly and the Planning Commission both have directed staff to explore the City and Borough of Juneau’s need for a uniform telecommunications plan. That need was identified four years ago and still no tangible results have been made public. At its last meeting, the Assembly was told there has been much back-and-forth between staff and a professional consultant who specialized in telecommunications plans.
