It's reunion season! What have your experiences been?

It managed to sneak up on me. This summer is my 10-year high school reunion and I'll be heading back down to Redmond, Ore. for the occasion.

My time in high school was wholly unremarkable. I managed to get through with minimal drama, negligible popularity and respectable grades, getting me into college and on with my life.

I suppose I'm not going to the reunion out of any sense of nostalgia, though I do look forward to seeing some friends who are scattered around the country, but out of a sense of curiosity (you're welcome, Alaska Airlines). I want to know what we have all done in the past 10 years, and facebook doesn't really provide all those answers.

Where are we now? What are we doing? Do we have more or less in common after these years apart? Will we all find ourselves in the same configuration of tables segregated by cliques? Does the guy I had an unrequited crush on have a receding hairline now? (I kind of hope so). So many questions.

It's been on my radar nominally for a few months, as former classmates discuss details of the reunion in a Facebook group, but it wasn't until I covered the Yakoosge Daakahidi graduation just over a week ago that it hit me that it has been 10 years since graduation.

I guess it feels far away now, but 10 years? Please tell me 30 is the new 20, because as happy as I am with the progress I've made, I'm not quite living the American dream yet.

I'll update on the reunion thing in mid- to late-August after the reunion, but for now, what have your reunion experiences been like?
