The past three games have been about as close as we can get to winning without actually earning a victory. An eight point loss to the top team in our league, followed by a two point loss on the road to the fourth place team, and then a five point overtime loss this past Saturday against the second place team in our league, Artego Bydgoszcz.

We are coming off a long but fun weekend that included a road trip to Kraków, where we faced one of the top teams in our league Wisla CP Kraków. The game could’ve gone better as we lost 83-59. However, keep in mind that this team is not only one of the best teams in Poland, they’re also a top team in the Euroleague and have the WNBA’s MVP Tina Charles on their team among other great players.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I am going to do my best to watch it over here in Poland. Hopefully I will be able to stay up late enough and my WiFi will work well enough to see somewhat of a clear picture.

It seems like not too long ago that I was on an early morning flight from Portland to start a journey filled with high hopes as well as many unknowns. Today, I am on my way home, and while it doesn’t seem like it, it was nearly 7 months ago that my professional career began in Poland.

I’d like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone back home! I hope everyone is enjoying time with family and friends and of course their turkey feasts as well. I certainly wish I could be home with my family to celebrate, however I’m more than thankful to be where I am today. Athletes sacrifice a lot to meet the demands of their seasons and for basketball players, this includes missing time with family and friends during winter holidays. I am definitely accustomed to being gone for Thanksgiving.

Poland may be behind America in many ways, however not when it comes to daylight savings time. Last night we “fell back” an hour- a whole week before it happens in the U.S. This is just further proof that Fall is officially here. The weather has most definitely been an indication of that as well. Temperatures are dropping and we even had a short period of a little snow. This week is expected to be in the low 40s, which doesn’t seem too bad but for some reason it feels a lot cooler than that.

One week in, and the journey is in full swing. As expected, basketball has been occupying the majority of my time but I have had the opportunity to fully unpack, and briefly explore the immediate surrounding area. With the exception of a couple of days, we have had two practices a day. Weights and/or conditioning in the morning and basketball practice in the afternoon. I feel almost like I’m back in college at summer school- minus the schoolwork. The day-to-day schedule is very similar.

Greetings from our snowy neighborhood in Sopot! I guess they were just waiting until the New Year to give us some snow, as we are now in the midst of our third consecutive day with snow and the forecast is predicting this to continue for another three days. Also, since I have been back from break, I’ve noticed the amount of darkness during the day. I’m sure it was like this before I left but maybe I just wasn’t aware until I went home and got to experience a more normal amount of sunlight during the day.

A combination of basketball, community service and sightseeing made this weekend very busy, yet a lot of fun. Saturday morning we drove about 20 minutes to Gdansk to visit the area of the city known as Old Town. It was absolutely beautiful, minus the rain, and I'd love to share more about it but after almost three weeks, I finally have some basketball news to share!

Hello from America! I made it home last night and it feel so good! The travel was long, as expected, but was problem free thanks to my light cardio session through Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. This was my first time having to run to catch my flight but after my 2-hour layover was consumed by the slowest moving customs process ever, I was left with no choice but to fasten up my backpack and hit the terminal running.   Nonetheless, I made my flight and after the 23 hours of travel, I was home sweet home.
