Police calls for Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018

Burglary

• At 9:07 a.m. Sunday, the Juneau Police Department responded to the report of criminal trespass at a business in the 400 block of Harris Street. Investigation continues.

Disorderly conduct

• At 5:33 p.m. Saturday, JPD arrested Natalia Sanders for disorderly conduct on Egan Drive. Sanders was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on $1,000 bail.

Domestic violence

• At 1:18 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the report of a domestic fight in the Juneau area.

• At 8:47 p.m. Saturday, JPD arrested a 46-year-old for domestic violence assault and two additional warrants in the Juneau area. Alcohol was a factor in the arrest. The person was taken to LCCC.

Parole violation

• On Saturday, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Ford Econoline Van on Mendenhall Loop Road. Troopers found that the driver, Kenneth Kitka, 59 of Juneau, had violated conditions of his parole. Kitka was arrested at the request of his parole officer and taken to LCCC, where he was held without bail.

Promoting contraband

• On Wednesday, Dec. 27, employees at LCCC reported that they found marijuana in a 48-year-old male inmate’s locker. Investigation continues.

Vandalism

• At 7:08 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the report of vandalism to a vehicle in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.

Warrant arrest

• On Saturday, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, arrested Juneau man Devin Clements, 25, on an outstanding misdemeanor parole warrant. Troopers contacted Clements on Back Loop Road near the Mendenhall River, according to a Troopers dispatch. Troopers discovered that Clements had an outstanding warrant, arrested him and took him to LCCC where he was held without bail.

Wildlife violations

• On Saturday, Dec. 23, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, inspected a personal use Red King crab pot in the Auke Bay area belonging to Juneau man Lance Woodward, 52. The inspection revealed that the pot didn’t have escape rings as required. Troopers seized the pot and Woodward was later issued a $110 citation in the Juneau District Court for fishing a king crab pot that lacked the required escape rings. The pot was then returned.

• On Saturday, Dec. 23, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, inspected a personal use Red King crab pot in the Auke Bay area belonging to Juneau man Jason Morrison, 57. The inspection revealed that the escape rings had been tied shut with line. Troopers seized the pot and Morrison was later issued a $110 citation in the Juneau District Court for fishing a king crab pot that had improper escape rings. The pot was then returned.
