Miriam Monette

Miriam Monette died July 7, 2011. She was 70.

Monette was born in Puyallup, Wash. and moved to Juneau in 1970 with her husband, Pete. She worked as an officer and dispatcher with the Juneau Police Department and eventually retired as chief dispatcher after 25 years of service. She later worked as a caregiver at REACH.

She is preceded in death by her parents Chester Miller and Crystal Miller and her son Eric “Scott” Monette. She is survived by her husband Pete, daughter Carrie (Jeff) Brawley, son Aaron Monette, sister Carolyn (Butch) Carnes, her brother Sonny (Ruth) Miller and many other family members.

A celebration of Miriam’s life is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. on July 23 at the Juneau Moose Lodge, 8335 Airport Blvd.
