Ashton Ericka-Marie Reyes

Ashton Ericka-Marie Reyes died Jan. 3, 2012. She was 22.

She attended Capital and Harborview elementary schools, Dzantiki Heeni Middle School, Juneau-Douglas and Yaakoosge Daakahidi high schools and the University of Alaska Southeast. She graduated from Everest Community College in Washington state as a registered dental assistant.

She worked as a saleswoman and spent on season aboard a fishing vessel in Southeast. She also volunteered in the community and was an artist, dancer, writer and singer.

She is survived by her mother, Terri Reyes of Oregon; father, Rick Reyes of Alaska; brother, Nathan; sisters, Merissa, Maegan and Andrea, all of Oregon; and many other family members.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be held in June in Juneau.
