Joanna Lynne Brown

Joanna Lynne Brown died at her home in Juneau on Nov. 10, 2011 due to natural causes.

Brown was born in Tacoma, Wash. on June 1, 1952 to Milton and Norma Knapp. She moved to Alaska, starting in Prince of Wales, then on to Juneau in 2000. She worked for the state of Alaska’s Department of Labor & Workforce Development, from which she had recently retired.

She loved to spend time with her friends and shopping. She was also involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and was a past member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) where she volunteered her time and efforts to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and local charities.

Joanna is survived by her mother Norma of Maryland, her father Milton of Oregon, her twin sister Janet Lake of Centralia, Wash. and her long-time companion Kelly Bushnell of Juneau.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
