James Jefferson Pilgrim died June 12, 2014 at the age of 56.
Pilgrim was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sept. 29, 1957. He served in the U.S. Army until he retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1992.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Prifogle and Janet Regian. He is survived by his mother, Norma Reher; siblings, Jerry McCleary, Jean Pilgrim, Jay Threet, John Robinson and Janel Moss; his wife, Mary Jane Pilgrim; his children, Jeremy Pilgrim, Ryan Pilgrim, Stacie Morocco, Dorothy Stanford and Alora Pilgrim; and his six grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at 5 p.m., June 20 at Auke Bay recreational area. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pilgrim’s name to the Alaska Peace Officers’ Association or the Alaska Veterans’ Association.
