Nancy Lou Green
Nancy Lou Green of Juneau died Monday, July 11, 2016, surrounded by family. She was 80 years old.
She was born Aug. 1935 in Athens, Ohio, and moved to Juneau with her family in 1975. She married Robert (Bob) Green in 1956 in Athens, and they were together 60 years. Nancy worked for the University of Alaska Southeast, AK Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, National Marine Fisheries Services and Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she was a charter member, secretary, music director and pianist.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, Ellen Combs of Juneau; sons, John of Wasilla and Tom of Athens; brother, James A. Brooks Jr. of Athens; daughter-in-law, Kathi Green of Wasilla; grandchildren, Marcus Combs and Morgan Nickles of Juneau, and Shane (Larinda) Green of Wasilla and Harrison Green of Athens; step granddaughter, Melissa Losselyong of Juneau; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Alexander Combs of Juneau, and Abbey and Brynlee Green of Wasilla.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, James Arthur Sr. and Cleo Brooks; sister-in-law, Susan Brooks; and granddaughter, Kellsie Green.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
