Ethel Kathleen Gray

Ethel Kathleen Gray died Dec. 15, 2011. She was 89.

She was born in Juneau in 1922 to Hans and Anna Loken and died in Douglas. She graduated from Juneau High School in 1940. She was a homemaker, an avid quilter, belonged to the Douglas Girls and enjoyed boating and fishing.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Charles M. Gray of Juneau, six children and several other family members.

Jeffrey Allen Westrup (Haley)

Jeffrey Allen Westrup (Haley) died Nov. 8, 2011. He was 27.

He graduated Juneau-Douglas High School in 2003 and worked at Udder Culture, Subway, Rodfather’s Broiler and most recently at Frontier Suites. He also worked at Best Buy and Christian Living Community in Centennial, Colo.

He is survived by his mother Penny L. Carter; father Patrick A. Haley; sisters Michelle R. Haley, Kelly A. Haley and Grace N. Haley; brother Brayden M. Haley; stepfather Vincent L. Carter and many other family members.

Wilton Royce Locke

Wilton Royce Locke of Waynesboro, Tenn. died Nov. 20, 2011. He was 77.

Locke was born May 19, 1934 in Linden, Fla., the son of Katie Jo McCormick Conway of Tarrytown, Fla., who survives him and the late Robert Clinton Locke. He married Patti Shaw, who survives, on March 1, 1982.

Locke was retired from the state of Alaska Department of Corrections, was a member and past master of Bushnell (Fla.) Masonic Lodge No. 30 and a Scottish Rite Freemason. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1961.

Francis “Frank” Philip Cashen

Francis “Frank” Philip Cashen died Nov. 13, 2011 in Juneau. He was 87.

Cashen and his identical twin brother Harry were born Sept. 5, 1924 to Thomas and Sadie (King) Cashen, and were raised in Douglas with older siblings Frances, Tom, Cece, John, Bill and Gerald.

Frank and Harry attended Douglas High School, graduating in 1942. They joined the U.S. Army and were stationed in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. They then attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
