Healthy Lifestyle Challenge: The Way Fitness Should Be Tip #4

Making fitness a lifestyle choice requires planning, commitment and

flexibility. Plan and have your workout clothes, food and water ready to

go. Be prepared so there is no reason for you to miss a workout. Living

a healthy lifestyle is a choice. Remove the excuses. Here are a few

suggestions to help you succeed and have fun, too. 


Pack your workout bag the night before. All you need for your workout is

already packed and ready to go. Keep it in your car so you can be

flexible if something changes in your work or family schedule.  


Eat well. Plan your meals or snacks so you have good energy for your

workout and throughout the day. Remember to bring a water bottle and

refill it to stay hydrated. Have a snack ready for after your workout.

Know the healthy choices that work for your diet and stick to it.

Educating yourself will give you the knowledge to make wise food

choices. Take a nutrition seminar at The Alaska Club or make an

appointment with a nutritionist. Your body is a machine and needs the

right fuel to function at its peak.


Get the family involved with meal planning and workouts. Bring the kids

to the Play Center while you workout or make it a family event. Play a

game of basketball, swim or walk the track. Play time counts too. With a

little planning and lots of action, you are sure to succeed.
