Healthy Fitness Challenge – Article 14

Congratulations on completing this 14-week challenge. To be successful at any fitness routine long term, you must employ a variety of tactics to keep yourself motivated and inspired along the way. Hopefully we’ve given you some tips that you can incorporate into your daily life. So we wrap up this series with one final piece of advice.

This week’s tip: Stick with it.

Whatever you do, don’t give up. Even if you aren’t feeling any motivation today, or this week, don’t give up. Again, that motivation will come back. Think of your goal of living healthy as a lifetime journey, and any slump is just a little bump in the road. You can’t give up with every little bump. Stay with it for the long term, ride out the ebbs and surf on the flows. Enjoy the benefits of healthy choices for years to come.

Exercise of the Week: Leg Extension

Sitting on machine, start with knees bent at 90 degrees, extend legs. Return to starting position. Focus on slow, controlled movements in the both directions. Don’t lock out the knee joint. Start with 10 reps on each side with a weight that is challenging enough to feel, but not too heavy to finish. You can also perform one leg at a time. See the demo at facebook.com/thealaskaclub
