Public Market non-support

The city should be embarrassed by and apologize for the lack of service provided to the organizers, vendors and shoppers who planned and attended the “Public Market” at the Centennial Hall this past weekend.

Shoppers had to climb over, wade through and navigate around large berms of snow that the city failed to remove on the sidewalks surrounding Centennial Hall. This forced them to walk in the streets or on dangerous slippery snow surfaces that were elevated above the street. I didn’t know I needed snowshoes and crampons to safely get to the event.

the city’s non-support of a major event kicking off the Christmas shopping season in Juneau was a disgrace. There was no excuse for their lack of action. Hopefully they don’t treat the Gallery Walk shoppers this weekend with the same disdain.
