Correction to a My Turn

In the My Turn I wrote on paycheck fairness Nov. 12, I made a mistake about the Juneau Economic Development Council’s most recent report and want to apologize to Brian Holst and his staff.

I said that the report on earnings by gender was not in the 2012 edition, but it is on Pages 21 and 22. When I looked at the online report earlier, I missed this information.

The 2010 data shows that Alaskan men earned, on average, 37 percent more for full time year round employment than women. In Southeast Alaska, the average male income was $50,578, and SE Alaskan females earned an average of $37,321.
