Please drive responsibly

I see JPD has placed one of their portable speed monitoring devices at the area of Centennial Hall and Egan Drive. I am amazed how incoming traffic will actually slow down with that device in place. Under normal conditions, if not being there, traffic will be traveling over the speed limit. I know the device will not be there for long and traffic will then continue to go over the 20 mph limit thru out the summer.

It would also be nice if traffic would also slow down to 20 mph on the other downtown streets. I,m referring to Willoughby Ave., Main St., 12th. St, and Calhoun St. The speed limit on these streets are 20 mph as posted. Just a reminder. Summer is upon us. The need to drive faster will happen. With that, there may loses of lives. It happened twice last year on Egan Drive within a period of a month. Remember Juneauites, drive responsibly. Driving is a privilege, not a right.
