Background checks are worth it

Thanks for printing the article on Bloomberg. I e-mailed Senator Mark Begich when the VPSO was recently shot and killed asking him to support this legislation. He quoted me 2nd Amendment rights and refused to support the bill.


As I told the senator, those of us with clean backgrounds don’t mind the extra effort if this keeps one child, one police officer, or one older person safe within our communities. Look at the tragedies around you and see how many have guns involved.

Guns do nothing but kill period. At the very least is it too much to ask that those who have them also have a clean background check. You don’t have to be a genius to get this one Mark, just not dumber than a doornob.
