Letter: Trial will help community heal

The division in our community as well as the high emotions expressed requires that the student/coach incident go to trial.

Our justice system is not perfect, but it allows society to act in a civil manner and for each party to present their side of the incident in an open and public setting. Only in this setting will the citizens of Juneau hear firsthand the circumstances of the incident, which will hopefully help to heal the wounds of our divided community.

Surely the cost of an airline ticket will not prevent our justice system from carrying out its duty to all parties involved.
