Letter: 'Ore House' headline was a cheap shot

We read with dismay your characterization of George Jefferson’s Thane Ore House as the “Worst Little Ore House in Juneau.” Mr. Jefferson, although he may have made some mistakes, has been a staunch supporter of many organizations in this community for years. To non-profits, he has offered donations and a venue for events and has been generous with his assets. To hold him up to ridicule in a very public way is unbecoming and demonstrates a lack of charity as well as a lack of understanding of what Mr. Jefferson has contributed to Juneau. Kicking people when they are down is not the kind of newspaper we want.
