What a shame that Juneau’s Chamber of Commerce CEO Ms. Roemmich used the sinking Skagway ferry terminal dock to push the pro road agenda. Her comment that “I bet they wish they had a road now” is both ignorant and mean spirited. Even if the road was finished right now, drivers would still need to take a ferry into Skagway. Or they could get stuck along the way by an avalanche and wish they hadn’t had to drive to a distant ferry terminal to catch another ferry to go north to Haines or Skagway. To make light of the situation in Skagway where people and businesses are being inconvenienced is rather cruel.
