I listened to Sen. Murkowski’s February 22 speech to the Alaska Legislature. I am addressing her comments about the high cost of health care, especially in Alaska.
She knows the solutions; universal health care, importation of prescription drugs from safe countries such as Canada, removing the prohibition Congress put on Medicare that prevents Medicare from negotiating drug prices and paying for the education of doctors and dentists. Medical students come out of medical school with hundreds of thousands in debt. Add a house, family and a practice and the doctors and dentists must charge high fees.
So, the real problem is, what is she going to do about it?
