Disney Cruise Line will be making its way to Southeast Alaska in 2012.
The Disney Wonder will make 14 seven-night cruises from Seattle to Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. Stops will also be made in Victoria, British Columbia.
The first cruise date is set for May 28, 2012.
“Disney announced today they will be here in 2012 which is great news for our community,” said Lorene Palmer, president and chief executive officer of the Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It’s very interesting to see Disney come here and wonderful to know they already have a high level of confidence in the market here to come in 2012. This will be great for the tour operators and market and economic benefits of Juneau.”

Seems fitting to add Disney to the circus of summer in downtown. Will they have costumed characters wandering around town? And they call it Disney North for what reason?
No, but they've asked all the
No, but they've asked all the shore ex's to have some type of "disney" or "kid" theme to make it more "Disney" special. Even the glacier visitors center is going to be doing something different when the Wonder is in port.
Funny how they ask (demand?) the community to be Disney theme for their passengers, but when one of the most successful not-for-profits asked if Disney would allow a few of the characters to come off the boat to entertain the local Juneau kids @ an event, we were told "they couldn't guarantee their safety". O _ o This is Juneau, AK.. not St. Thomas or Montego Bay, Jamaica!
don't expect Disney to be as giving as Princess/Holland America or Celebrity/Royal Caribbean to our communities. Disney is just another company wanting to come in and profit off of us without giving anything back.
Just for the profits
Disney is coming and anyone who can not see its becasue there are profits to be made are among those in the dark. 14 more cruises to Alaska indicates to me there is nothing but BS from the industry that claims a tax on tourist will shut down tourism.
community to be mor Disney themed?
Nate, are you going to actually prove what you are saying is true?
How would you like for me to
How would you like for me to prove it? Just look at all the charities around and then all the corporate sponsors logos displayed, and the thank yous in the paper. You won't see the Disney logo anywhere.
