SEARHC hires behavioral health clinician

The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium Juneau Behavioral Health Clinic recently hired Gary M. Weglarz as a behavioral health clinician.

Weglarz earned a master of social work degree with a concentration in mental health from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M. He also earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich. He is certified as a licensed clinical social worker by the Alaska Board of Social Work Examiners, and as a chemical dependency counselor-1 by the Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health Certification.

Prior to joining the SEARHC, Weglarz worked as a behavioral health clinician with the North Slope Borough in Barrow and with Chugachmiut Inc., in Port Graham. He also worked in hospice care and with veterans in Montana.

Weglarz’s medical interests include trauma healing, substance abuse recovery, culture and healing, and working with grief and loss.
