City to begin exercising water valves May 1

Customers may suffer service outages, water discoloration

The City and Borough of Juneau’s Water Utility will begin exercising water valves throughout the city May 1, according to a release from the city.

The work will continue through late June, the release states. While the program is ongoing, customers may suffer disruptions in service or find their tap water discolored. The city states people can clear any discoloration by waiting for water crews to leave the area, then running the tap until the water is clear.

For more information, please contact the Water Utility at 780-6888.
