Domestic violence

• At 11:02 p.m. Monday, an 18-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault. He was also charged with domestic violence criminal mischief. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Driving without a license

• At 8:02 p.m. Monday, a driver was cited for driving without a license in the 2400 block of Mendenhall Loop Road. The vehicle was impounded.

• At 12:28 a.m. Tuesday, a driver was cited for driving without a license in the 2000 block of Lemon Creek Road. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Drunken driving

• At 11:40 p.m. Monday, Nathan Edwin Jarrett, 32, was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Threadneedle Street. He was taken to LCCC. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.


• At 10:02 a.m. Tuesday, a male patient was taken from Bartlett Regional Hospital to Juneau international Airport with chest pain.

• At 4:36 p.m. Tuesday, a male patient was taken from Chattham Drive to BRH with dyspnea.

• At 6:29 p.m. Tuesday, a male patient was taken from Riverside Drive to BRH with a broken ankle.

• At 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, a male patient was taken from BRH to JIA with chest pain.

• At 7:29 p.m. Tuesday, a male patient on Ferry Way refused transport for controlled bleeding.

• At 9:17 p.m. Tuesday, a female patient was taken from Glacier Highway to BRH with a panic attack.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 5 p.m. Monday, a 39-year-old woman reported her vehicle was struck while parked in the 1600 block of Glacier Avenue.


• At 8:46 a.m. Tuesday, a 13-year-old girl was remanded on a juvenile probation violation. She was taken to Johnson Youth Center.

Service needed

• At 6:10 p.m. Monday, the Juneau Police Department reported a domestic violence protective order needed to be served on a 51-year-old man.


• At 4:14 p.m. Monday, Gus William Nelson, 20, was cited for concealment of merchandise in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway.

Warrant arrest

• At 1:38 p.m. Monday, Kurtis Michael Detemple, 19, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road.

South Franklin Street construction to start next week

The City and Borough of Juneau is beginning the first phase of its Downtown Street Improvements on Feb. 27, CBJ announced Wednesday. The work starts with a new roadway, new sidewalks, new lighting and draining improvements to parts of South Franklin Street.

This Day in Juneau History: Feb. 23, 1987

On Feb. 23, 1987, Alaska House lawmakers voted 22-17 to transfer all of the $426 million from the Alaska budget reserve to the general fund to cover state bills. However, the clause that would have made the bill effective immediately after it was passed by both the Legislature and Gov. Steve Cowper was not passed, meaning that the bill will not go into effect until 90 days after Cowper’s signature and therefore not in time to stop a state cash flow crisis predicted to occur on March 9.
