Fire

• At 12:24 a.m. Saturday, Capital City Fire and Rescue transported a male patient from Thane Road to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of a seizure.

• At 12:41 a.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to a report of a female patient having a seizure on East Valley Court.

• At 4:40 a.m. Saturday, CCFR transported an assault victim from Franklin Street to BRH.

• At 4:49 a.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to an intoxicated male patient on Main Street.

• At 11:03 a.m. Saturday, CCFR investigated the odor of smoke on Glacier Highway. An investigation revealed there was no fire.

• At 1:41 p.m. Saturday, CCFR transported a patient from Juneau International Airport to BRH.

• At 2:01 p.m. Saturday, CCFR transported an unresponsive male patient from Mendenhall Mall Road to BRH.

• At 2:29 p.m. Saturday, CCFR investigated a malfunctioning fire alarm on La Perouse Avenue.

• At 2:33 p.m. Saturday, CCFR transported a male patient from Mendenhall Mall Road to BRH after a fall.

• At 3:09 p.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to a female patient with difficulty breathing on Gladstone Street.

• At 3:44 p.m. Saturday, CCFR transported a female patient from Gladstone Street to BRH for treatment of breathing difficulty.

• At 4:58 p.m. Saturday, CCFR transported a female patient from Thane Road to BRH after a bicycle accident.

• At 5:16 p.m. Saturday, CCFR investigated a Lifeline activation. The Lifeline was activated in error.

• At 7:54 p.m. Saturday, CCFR transported an unconscious and bleeding female patient from Glacier Avenue to BRH.

• At 12:13 a.m. Sunday, CCFR transported a female patient from Franklin Street to BRH for treatment of shortness of breath.

• At 12:14 a.m. Sunday, CCFR transported a female patient from the Auke Bay Ferry Terminal to BRH for treatment of chest pain.

• At 8:14 a.m. Sunday, CCFR transported a male patient from Glacier Highway to BRH for treatment of a seizure.

• At 11:06 a.m. Sunday, CCFR investigated a fire alarm system malfunction on Willoughby Avenue.

• At 1:51 p.m. Sunday, CCFR transported a male patient from Hospital Drive to BRH for treatment of a seizure.

• At 4:09 p.m. Sunday, CCFR transported a male patient from Whittier Street to BRH after a fall.

• At 6:10 p.m. Sunday, CCFR investigated a fire alarm on Riverside Drive. An investigation revealed the alarm had been maliciously activated.

• At 6:39 p.m. Sunday, CCFR investigated a fire in a mobile home on Thunder Mountain Road. The fire was extinguished.

• At 6:51 p.m. Sunday, CCFR investigated the odor of smoke on Willoughby Avenue. The investigation revealed there was no fire.

• At 9:01 p.m. Sunday, CCFR transported an intoxicated female patient from Willoughby Avenue to BRH.

Theft

• At 2:48 p.m. Saturday, a 30-year-old woman reported the theft of a cell phone in the 3100 block of Riverside Drive. The phone has an estimated value of $240.

• At 5:34 p.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old man reported a stolen fishing rod. The rod has an estimated value of $60.

• At 9:42 p.m. Saturday, an 11-year-old boy reported money stolen.

Vandalism

• At 12:02 p.m. Saturday, the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of graffiti to a building in the 900 block of Third Street.

• At 12:06 p.m. Saturday, JPD investigated a report of graffiti to a building in the 1600 block of Douglas Highway.

• At 12:12 p.m. Saturday, JPD investigated a report of graffiti to a building in the 1100 block of Third Street.

• At 12:12 p.m. Saturday, JPD investigated a report of graffiti to a building in the 1300 block of Third Street.

• At 12:14 p.m. Saturday, JPD investigated a report of graffiti to a building in the 1100 block of Third Street.

• At 8:57 a.m. Sunday, JPD investigated a report of vandalism to a vehicle in the 400 block of 11th Street.

• At 10:11 a.m. Sunday, JPD investigated a report of two restrooms spray painted at Twin Lakes park.

Warrant arrest

• At 1:21 a.m. Sunday, Clifford Adams Jr. 49, was arrested on Franklin Street on a warrant charging failure to appear.

• At 2:41 a.m. Sunday, John Holland, 35, was arrested in the 200 block of Franklin Street on a warrant charging third-degree burglary.

This Day in Juneau History: Jan. 22, 1987

On Jan. 22, 1987, Gov. Steve Cowper prepared to discuss the final part of his fiscal plan: budget cuts. The total amount suggested to be cut by his temporary cabinet was $300 million, which tore funding from a variety of different programs. However, although what propositions Cowper accepted were still a mystery, Press Secretary David Ramseur confirmed that the cuts he did accept totaled at about $200 million. Cowper was to give a speech directly to the Alaska Legislature discussing the specifics of his recommended cuts.

Man caught with 3 pounds of meth on Southeast Alaska-bound ferry sentenced to 20 months

A 21-year-old man who was caught transporting three pounds of methamphetamine — reportedly the largest seizure in Southeast Alaska in at least 10 years— on the ferry between Bellingham and Ketchikan last May was “a patsy, plan and simple,” his defense attorney argued.
