Photos: Pillars of the community

Gov. Sean Parnell and his wife, Sandy, look at one of the wooden pillars Friday in front of the Governor’s Mansion. The mansion’s exterior is undergoing it’s first major remodel since 1936. The pillars, made from clear cedar, have had their lead paint removed and gaps filled. After an oil primer this weekend the pillars will be painted white this week. Work on the front of the building should be done by early July but will continue on around the remaining sides.
