Abandon vehicle

• At 11:52 a.m. Saturday, a 2000 Pontiac was reported in a ditch on Vanderbilt Hill Road. The vehicle was privately towed.


• At 12:12 a.m. Saturday, Shauna Lisa Sparks, 32, was arrested for assault in the 100 block of Franklin Street. She was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• At 2:07 a.m. Saturday, Daisy Lunch, 38, was arrested on a $250 Juneau Police Department warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of disorderly conduct in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 3:07 a.m. Saturday, Jose Vela, 39, was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 200 block of Front Street. He was taken to LCCC.

Domestic violence

• At 6:03 p.m. Friday, a 32-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault. He was taken to LCCC.

• At 7:35 p.m. Friday, Juneau Trial Courts served a domestic violence protective order on a 47-year-old man.

• At 1:20 a.m. Saturday, a 51-year-old woman reported being assaulted by a 31-year-old woman.

Driving without a license

• At 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Clayton Davis, 51, was cited for driving without a license on Glacier Spur Road. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Drunken driving

• At 4:25 p.m. Friday, Caroline Constance Grant, 31, was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Third Street. She was taken to LCCC. The vehicle she was driving was impounded.


• At 2:47 p.m. Friday, a 51-year-old woman reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill in the 300 block of Franklin Street.


• At 1:06 p.m. Friday, a 48-year-old woman reported her laptop taken from her residence in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.

• At 8:19 p.m. Friday, a 38-year-old man reported the theft of a wallet and it’s contents in the 3000 block of Riverside Drive.

• At 8:57 a.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old man reported the theft of a backpack containing fishing rods and miscellaneous fishing gear was stolen from a vehicle in the 8900 block of Duran Street.

This day in Juneau history: Feb. 19

On Feb. 19, 1987, Gov. Steve Cowper and the Alaska Legislature formed a budget plan for the upcoming year. The House Finance Committee passed a bill giving Gov. Cowper permission to spend the $428 million reserve fund, and representatives described meetings with Gov. Cowper “wonderful”.
