The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, or SEARHC, will host health screenings during the first week of August in Klawock.
The screenings will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 5. These screenings will require a simple blood test, and will provide participants with their non-fasting blood glucose and HDL, or good, cholesterol levels. Blood pressure will also be measured, and health professionals will be available to discuss the test results.
People wanting to be screened are encouraged to make an appointment with June May in Klawock at (907) 755-4959. Walk-ins will be taken as well, but those patients may face a wait for the tests.
