Police and Fire for Tuesday, July 26

Domestic violence

• At 6:42 p.m. Saturday, a 39-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault. He was also arrested for domestic violence criminal mischief. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Driving while license suspended

• At 7:02 p.m. Saturday, a 39-year-old man was cited in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway for driving while his license was suspended. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Drunk on a licensed premises

• At 4:05 a.m. Sunday, Franklin Hooper Tompkins, 45, was cited for being drunk on a licensed premises in the 400 block of Third Street.

Drunken driving

• At 2:04 a.m. Sunday, Lawrence Kirk Smith, 50 was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 1300 block of Egan Drive. He was taken to LCCC. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

• At 3:26 a.m. Sunday, Jesyca Chrystyne Mack, 26, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 4000 block of Egan Drive. She was taken to LCCC. Her vehicle was impounded.

Fire and medical

• At 1:29 a.m. Friday, Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to a female assault victim on Gold Street. She was treated by EMS.

• At 7:47 a.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a fire alarm on University Drive. Burnt food activated the alarm.

• At 8:06 a.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a woman on Mink Circle. She was treated by EMS.

• At 10:47 a.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a man on Vintage Boulevard following a seizure. He was treated by EMS.

• At 10:50 a.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a vomiting female patient on Shell Simmons Drive. She was treated by EMS.

• At 12:46 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to an electrical wiring problem on Valley Boulevard. A repair was in progress.

• At 12:59 p.m. Friday, a man was taken from Marine Way to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of severe weakness.

• At 2:36 p.m. Friday, a woman was taken from Franklin Street Dock to BRH for treatment of breathing difficulty.

• At 5:22 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a man who fell on Franklin Street.

• At 6:05 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a fire alarm on Teal Street. The alarm was activated by cigarette smoke.

• At 6:53 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a woman on Mink Circle. She was treated by EMS.

• At 8:21 p.m. Friday, a man was taken from BRH to Juneau International Airport.

• At 11:10 p.m. Friday, CCFR extinguished a vehicle fire on Mendenhall Mall Road.

• At 1 a.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to a man on Trout Street with a medical concern. EMS treated him on scene.

• At 2:24 a.m. Saturday, a man was taken from Trout Street to BRH for treatment of dyspnea.

• At 2:46 a.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to a man on Taku Court. He was treated by EMS.

• At 4:29 a.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to a woman on Mink Circle. She was treated by EMS.

• At 7:34 a.m. Saturday, a woman was taken from JIA to a private residence following back surgery.

• At 9:28 a.m. Saturday, a man was taken from Foster Avenue to BRH for treatment of a seizure.

• At 10:32 a.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to a woman on Mink Circle. She was treated by EMS.

• At 11:10 a.m. Saturday, a woman was taken from Park Place to BRH for treatment of a fractured wrist.

• At 11:11 a.m. Saturday, a woman was taken from Second Street to BRH for treatment of choking.

• At 12:02 p.m. Saturday, a man was taken from BRH to JIA.

• At 12:17 p.m. Saturday, a woman was taken from JIA to BRH.

• At 12:54 p.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to a fire alarm on Rainbow Row. The alarm was malfunctioning.

• At 5:30 p.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to an authorized, controlled burning on Glacier Highway.

• At 7:16 p.m. Saturday, a woman was taken from Franklin street to BRH for treatment of a severe headache.

• At 7:53 p.m. Saturday, a man was taken from Goldbelt Avenue to BRH for treatment of withdrawal symptoms.

• At 1:09 a.m. Sunday, CCFR responded to a minor on James Boulevard with breathing difficulty. The patient was not transported.

• At 1:19 a.m. Sunday, CCFR responded to a man with a hand laceration on Riverside Drive. EMS treated him at the scene.

• At 3:13 a.m. Sunday, a male assault victim was taken from Marine Way to BRH.

• At 6:37 a.m. Sunday, a non-responsive man was taken from the Franklin Street Dock to BRH.

• At 7:49 a.m. Sunday, CCFR assisted in the search for an overdue airplane on Shell Simmons Drive.

• At 8:40 a.m. Sunday, a man was taken from Franklin street to BRH for treatment of a back injury.

• At 10:05 a.m. Sunday, CCFR responded to arcing power lines on Glacier Highway. The scene was transferred to Alaska Electric Light & Power.

• At 4:04 p.m. Sunday, CCFR investigated smoke or an odor on Atlin Drive. There was no fire.

• At 8:16 p.m. Sunday, CCFR responded to a fire alarm on Willoughby Avenue. An investigation revealed burnt food activated the alarm.

Harassment

• At 8:47 p.m. Saturday, the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of a 12-year-old boy being harassed.

Service

• At 9:44 p.m. Saturday, a 45-year-old woman was served a summons in the 2900 block of Linda Avenue.

Theft

• At 9:07 p.m. Saturday, a 21-year-old man reported his vehicle was rifled through in the 200 block of Gold Street. An iPod charger and other adapters were missing.

• At 7:43 a.m. Sunday, a 58-year-old man reported his wallet and its contents stolen in the 9100 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 10:16 a.m. Saturday, Rafael Llamas Flores, 46, was arrested for theft in the 100 block of Franklin Street. Flores was taken to LCCC.

• At 10:54 a.m. Sunday, a 28-year-old man reported the theft of his wallet from his unlocked vehicle.

Warrant arrest

• At 4:05 a.m. Sunday, Michael Wayne Brines, 34, was arrested in the 3400 block of Foster Avenue on an outstanding warrant. He was also charged as a fugitive from justice. He was taken to LCCC.

This day in Juneau history: Feb. 19

On Feb. 19, 1987, Gov. Steve Cowper and the Alaska Legislature formed a budget plan for the upcoming year. The House Finance Committee passed a bill giving Gov. Cowper permission to spend the $428 million reserve fund, and representatives described meetings with Gov. Cowper “wonderful”.
