Ferry delayed by mechanical diffculty

The ferry Taku did not meet its scheduled 3:30 p.m. Friday departure time from Auke Bay due to a mechanical issue, according to a release from the Alaska Marine Highway System.

The ferry will not leave Juneau until at least 10 p.m. Friday, and the actual departure time is dependent on the tides in the Sergius Narrows between Juneau and Sitka.
